Since we launched our Unbounded Kollection in 2019, we went on some amazing adventures with some equally amazing people that inspired new ways to live, work and play.
From practical extensions to added aesthetics, we took inspiration from everyday experiences in life to challenge the norm, and in line with our aim to deliver the ultimate service, we’re excited to introduce a new range of colours that will be available as part of our Unbounded Kollection.
Available in 8 solid colours, FENIX is a new addition to the KompacPlus Unbounded Kollection that offers super-matte surfaces for enhanced seamless installations.
What exactly is FENIX?
Launched in 2013, FENIX is a carbon neutral brand that offers innovative smart materials that’s designed and built for interior use.
Taking inspiration from the immortal Phoenix and its legendary ability to infinitely regenerate, this collection features Italian craftsmanship in super-matte surfaces that are enhanced with a colour-matching core.
In exclusive collaboration with Formica Asia, KompacPlus is now the official distributor of FENIX in Singapore, where selected FENIX NTM colours and FENIX Integrated Solutions will be available as part of the KompacPlus Unbounded Experience.
Building on our expertise in seamless and hack-free installations as the primary supplier of KompacPanels, this special collection of innovative surfacing materials will be available at both KompacPlus Singapore and KompacPlus Malaysia.
From 01 May 2023 onwards, our selected range of FENIX NTM colours will be available for all standard and customised installations by KompacPlus.

As a surfacing material, FENIX offers a wide selection of material thickness and surface specifications to serve a variety of interior use.
The selected range that will be available at KompacPlus will also feature the same material thickness of only 6mm to allow seamless combinations of surface aesthetics with the rest of our Unbounded Kollection.

Thanks to use of nano-technology in its production process, the supermatte surfaces of FENIX NTM are anti-fingerprint, soft to touch with extreme low light reflectivity.
What makes FENIX super-matte?
Where NTM stands for nanotech-matte, our range of FENIX colours offer 8 solid colours with super-matte surfaces that are remarkably soft to touch.
This feature is achieved through an electron beam curing process where next-gen acrylic resins are combined with a separate core structure made of paper impregnated with thermosetting resins.
As a result, FENIX has a super-matte surface that is further complemented by a colour-matching core that is structurally non-porous and highly resistant against wear and tear.
Adding that to its natural low light reflectivity and anti-fingerprint properties, FENIX is designed and built to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of your living space by taking seamless installations to the next level.

What makes FENIX a super smart material?
Coming back to its nanotech origins, the signature of FENIX as a smart material lies in its built-in ability to self-restore superficial micro-scratches under gentle heat.
As a side effect of modern lifestyles that are increasingly fast-paced to keep us on the move, micro-scratches are unexpected occurrences that can easily result from daily use (such as moving things around or grabbing keys off of countertops).
Under these circumstances, the thermal healing ability of FENIX surfaces can be activated using heat from a warm iron to carefully restore the scratched areas to their original condition.

With aim to enhance the aesthetic appeal of this super-matte and smart material as kitchen countertops, FENIX Integrated Solutions will also be available at KompacPlus as colour-matching kitchen sinks to enhance kitchen spaces with extended seamless aesthetics.
Featuring a rectangular sink bowl with flat rims as part of its minimalist design, FENIX Kitchen Sinks are made of an innovative matte composite material to suit the FENIX signature look and feel.

Is FENIX easy to clean and maintain?
As a smart material that is built to enhance modern living experiences with self-restorative functions, FENIX can – without a doubt – be easily cleaned and maintained for long-lasting use.
Similar to how KompacPanels can be maintained, common dirt or spills can be easily removed and cleaned with just warm water and everyday household cleaning agents, but as measures to preserve the super-matte aesthetics on the material surface, we recommend only using soft cleaning tools (ie. soft bristled brush, melamine sponge) to remove tough residues from the surface.
