URBAN TRAILS: WHERE FRONDESCENT RHYTHM BEATS
In collaboration for Singapore Design Week
Driven by shared recognition of the importance to preserve and protect, we're pleased to introduce Frondescent Rhythm - a one-of-a-kind art piece that features KompacPanels in a beautiful arrangement of gentle curves fitted on top of solid metal, designed in collaboration with the creative minds of Next of Kin for Singapore Design Week 2023.
Which of these do you recognise, as limited edition giveaways, exclusive collectibles and more?
For those who have been following our Unbounded journey since becoming part of the Hyphenate network last year, you may have noticed our growing range of toys and ornaments that have been popping up every once and again on our social media channels.
In our search of innovative ways to re-purpose KompacPanel offcuts instead of sending them through proper channels for disposal, our latest collaboration with Next of Kin Creatives provided an exciting opportunity to push creative limits, and at the same time, demonstrate the compact durability of KompacPanels as an innovative surfacing material for interior use.
Set on a base made of copper-plated ABS, this stunning art piece doubles as a beautifully sculpted serving tray, designed to effortlessly match surrounding interiors as a practical dining accessory.
Taking inspiration from tropical elements that characterised our home and country, KompacPanels were cut and moulded in the image of a large leaf, resembling fronds of our favourite houseplant that display signature aesthetics in a form of still life. With a gentle tug, the ‘fronds’ can be easily removed for cleaning and reassembly, allowing the tray to serve lasting use in decades to come.
Through this collaboration with NOK that gave previously discarded materials a new identity and purpose in the modern world, we hope Frondescent Rhythm inspires new perspective for modern habitats in our endless pursuit for quality and sustainable living.
Frondescent Rhythm made its debut at the launch of the first KompacPlus showroom in Duxton, Singapore; featured as the stunning table display in the Vipp Dining space located on Level 2.
