Frequenty Asked Questions
Basic Information
KompacFlow is a seamless power integration system that combines KompacPlus’ premium compact laminate panels with a linear, modular power track system. It allows homeowners and designers to embed flexible electrical access directly into feature walls and countertops—seamlessly and elegantly.
KompacFlow has two primary formats:
a. KompacFlow—Wall: For vertical surfaces like wall panels and feature walls
b.KompacFlow—Top: For horizontal surfaces such as kitchen countertops or worktops
KompacFlow is embedded and concealed within KompacPanels, with only a minimal 3MM groove line visible on the panel face. It’s subtle and architectiral—offering functionality without compromising design. It complements the aesthetic rather than detracting from it.
The system is part of the KompacPanel itself, resulting in the elimination of bulky housings and additional parts that look like an afterthought.
KompacFlow is a designed as a power integration system that can only be availed with our 6MM KompacPanels. While you may choose the quantity of the adapters for your KompacFlow system, the power track, however, is not sold separately.
KompacFlow is designed as a concealed system, which means the linear power track is integrated into the panel during fabrication.
For this reason, it unfortunately can’t be incorporated into an existing KompacPlus kitchen backsplash, countertop, or tabletop that has already been installed. If you’re considering a renovation or replacement in the future, we’d be happy to explore how KompacFlow can be seamlessly built into your new setup.
Installation and Compatibility
Yes, KompacFlow lengths are fully-customisable upon request. You may get in touch with either your appointed Interior Designer/Contractor or our Sales Team to discuss your specific requirement.
KompacFlow is not designed for curved applications.
As the system uses a straight linear power track, it can only be installed on flat surfaces for optimal performance and safety.
Adapters for KompacFlow are currently available in two formats: UK-adapter (Type G) and a USB & USB-C port.
UK adapter (Type G) – standard three-pin plug used in Singapore and many other regions.
USB & USB-C ports – for direct charging of compatible devices without the need for an adapter.
Yes, you may place an order of additional power adapters after installation of your KompacFlow system as long as the total length of the linear power track can accommodate them.
Please note that the combined usage must not exceed the maximum load capacity of 7,000 watts for safe and optimal performance.
Usage and Functionality
Yes, KompacFlow can be used with high-wattage appliances such as kettles or air fryers, as long as the total connected load stays within the maximum capacity of 7,000 watts.
For reference, here are the approximate wattages of common kitchen appliances:
Electric kettle: ~1,500-2,200W
Air fryer: ~1,200-1,800W
Microwave oven: ~800-1,200W
Coffee machine: ~800-1,500W
Toaster: ~800-1,500W
Induction Cooker: ~1,500-2,000W
This means you can run multiple appliances at the same time, as long as their combined usage does not exceed 7,000 watts.
It’s not recommended to move the sockets while appliances are plugged in.
Prolonged sliding of the sockets along the linear power track can cause wear to the copper connectors inside the system, which may affect long-term performance. For best results and safety, we recommend unplugging the socket first, then reinserting it into the new desired location.
The chances of a KompacFlow linear power track malfunctioning are very low.
If you find that there is no electrical supply to the track, first check the DB box (distribution board) to ensure the main incoming electrical supply is functioning. If any component of the adapter becomes loose, stop using it and replace it immediately.
For assistance or further inspection, you may get in touch with our team so we can ensure your system remains safe and in optimal working condition.
Yes, KompacFlow can be applied in a wet kitchen.
The system is rated Ingress Protection 54 (IP54), meaning it is protected against splashes of water from any direction and limited dust ingress. To know more about IP ratings, you may refer to the International Electrotechnical Commission guide.
If the linear power track comes into contact with water, switch off the power supply, wipe off any excess water, and allow the track to dry completely before using it again. For added safety, always ensure hands and plugs are dry before handling the sockets.
Yes, the KompacFlow system is designed with safety in mind, including for children. The track opening is only 3MM wide, making it impossible for fingers to fit through. This design ensure there is no direct contact with any live components during normal use.
Warranty
We offer a 3-year warranty for the KompacFlow system which covers the linear power track and its adapters.
Yes, the 10-year warranty for KompacPanels (from any of our signature Kollection) will still apply if you upgrade to a KompacFlow application, provided that the installation is carried out by our authorised team and the product is used under normal conditions as outlined in our warranty terms.
